Third Grade Discipline

Perhaps the main focus of discipline in third grade is that the students be aware of their actions and take responsibility for them.  We are also stressing that they respect themselves and others.  I’m sure that this correlates with what you are teaching at home.  The students seem to be doing very well thus far, and I don’t anticipate any problems.  The rules of behavior are as follows:

                                    CLASS RULES

1. Follow directions.

2. Use time wisely.

3. Raise your hand to speak.

4. Listen when others are speaking.

5. Treat yourself, others and their property with respect.

                                    CONSEQUENCES

1.     Verbal warning.

2.     Sign your name on the behavior clipboard.

3.     One check by your name—lose a recess.

4.     Two checks—note home.

5.     Three checks or serious offense—conference with principal and/or parents.

REWARDS

1.     Verbal praise.

2.     Awards and class points.

3.     Treats!

4.     Class movies and parties.

5.     Tickets for Treasure Box drawing.
